Why Carrie Bradshaw Would Love ReSuit
We are so excited for the return of Sex and The City. The shots of the bustling New York streets, the stories of friendship and love, and of course, the fashion. This time around, Sex and The City will be returning in a very different time. So much has changed since the show debuted in 1998. Today, sustainability and ethics are central to the conversation that are taking place around the future of the fashion industry. It really got us thinking about the show’s protagonist, Carrie Bradshaw, who is known for her love of designer clothing and shoes. Where would she stand on the issues? Would she be writing about the pitfalls of fast fashion? Would she be supporting sustainable brands? Would 2021 Carrie be doing things differently? We couldn’t help but wonder …. would Carrie be a ReSuit user? We definitely think so. Here’s why!

Carrie lives in NYC
The Big Apple is, ironically, known for having small living spaces. Although we did last leave Carrie and Big in a beautiful, roomy apartment, let’s be honest, they’re still not living with the same amount of space you would find in the suburbs. With no basement or garage space to store things, a smaller wardrobe makes sense for Carrie. ReSuit would allow her to supplement as needed for events without taking up too much space in her NYC apartment. That’s a big win.
Carrie loves embracing trends
While all the SATC ladies had enviable style, no one was quite as deeply entrenched in the fashion world as Carrie, who would choose to buy the latest issue of Vogue over groceries in her early penny-pinching days in the city. Carrie was not afraid to try out new trends, bold colours, and unique shapes. We think she would have loved to rent adventurous and trendy pieces from fellow fashionistas in the city that would complement the more timeless pieces in her wardrobe.
Carrie is not afraid of second-hand clothing
Over the years, we saw Carrie in some stunning vintage pieces. The iconic pink tutu that Carrie wears in the opening credits was found by costume designer, Patricia Fields, in a thrift store for only $5. Fields also revealed that Carrie’s enviable collection of vintage tees, including the Mickey Mouse piece she layers under a chic white blazer while introducing Berger to the girls, came from a New York thrift store called What Comes Around Goes Around. It’s clear, Carrie is not opposed to vintage and second-hand pieces and we love that about her. It’s just another reason why we think Carrie would hit download on the ReSuit app.
Carrie has an enviable wardrobe to rent
Carrie wouldn’t just make the perfect ReSuit renter we also think she would be an amazing lender. Who wouldn’t want to get the chance to wear some of Carrie’s stunning designer pieces? She would probably be one of the most popular ReSuit accounts in New York. We bet her inbox would be full of requests from budding fashionistas.
Carrie is a social butterfly
The final reason we think Carrie would love the ReSuit app? She’s a social butterfly. As a popular columnist and author, Carrie is a sought-after New York figure. That means she’s got invites galore. From brunch with the ladies to book launch parties, it seems like Carrie always has somewhere to be. That means she needs an expansive wardrobe to go along with her full social calendar. Enter ReSuit. Tons of options on hand for whatever Carrie has planned for the week, all only a few clicks away!
And just like that …. we have conclusively proven that Carrie would have been a ReSuit user ;).
