Join the Revolution.

A revolution takes time. It takes planning, learning, and unlearning. It takes an idea that is cultivated with care and collaboration. The revolution of ReSuit started over 20 years ago. Back then, our Founder, Nada Shepherd, started her own label making clothing for people she knew, winning multiple awards and accolades along the way. All of this was done with the goal of learning everything she could about the supply chain and what the factories where her clothes were being produced were really like.

Visiting London in 2007, Nada noticed that even high-end stores like the iconic Harrods were packed with “stuff” - products that were made cheaply to quickly create room for the next trend. It was overwhelming and made her feel sickened with the state of the industry.

Understandably, consumers want the latest styles they see on the runways at an affordable price, but they often don’t know what the true cost of these clothes really is. The public’s perception of fast fashion began to shift in 2013, with the Rana Plaza garment factory collapse in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Consumers and the industry alike are now forced to reckon with their desire for fast fashion and cheap production. A revolution is needed, but it needs to come from the inside - from those who have been in fashion and know what goes on behind the scenes.

Having now spent nearly two decades learning the ins and outs of the business, having visited factories herself in China, and having a deep understanding of sustainability thanks to her coursework during her MBA studies, Nada’s idea for ReSuit had now been planted. She cultivated it for 8 years, building on her desire to upend the fashion industry.

Sustainability is not the only driver of ReSuit, though - women are. Of the 70 million garment workers worldwide, 75% of those are women. Nada wants the fashion industry to start asking itself the hard question: if we stop buying clothing from overseas, what happens to the women who have lost this income?

The story of ReSuit is one of building a sustainable planet for future generations. It’s one of respect. It’s one of understanding that there are many layers to this global problem. It’s realizing that reducing our reliance on overseas garment production will deeply affect the lives of others. With clothing being something we all use on a daily basis, regardless of how fashionable we consider ourselves, this is a revolution that needs you.

The story of ReSuit is your story.
